There are lots of reasons to join an MR Team, but the underlying unity between all members is a passion for the hills. The time spent learning how to move through the mountains safely, efficiently and make confident decisions about how to navigate off a hill in foul conditions, deal confidently with darkness or a patch of névé, are skills prospective members have already exposed themselves to. Strong commitment to a voluntary organisation is always a juggle with family life, work or other interests. Good attendance ensures that 35 team members know, understand and look out for each other; using a wealth of skills, systems and kit to get an awkward job done when tiredness and foul weather take their toll.
