How can you help?

We rely almost entirely on public donations to cover the essential costs of equipment, insurance and maintaining our vehicles and base to ensure the team is ready for rescues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Any donation to the team, large or small, will be an enormous help to us. There are a number of ways that you can make donations to the team. Either by joining our Supporters' Club for a small annual donation or by donating in one of the following ways:

1. Cheques can be made payable to ‘The Duddon & Furness MRT’ and should be sent to the team treasurer.

If you are a tax payer, the team is able to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on the sum donated to the team. We do this directly from the Inland Revenue and it does not cost you a thing, it simply requires you to fill in this form and return it to the team treasurer along with your donation. So for every £1 you donate we can claim an extra 28p.

2. By filling in a Bankers Order you are able to make a regular donation to the team, either monthly or annually, of any value you choose. If you are a UK taxpayer then we are able to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on these donations.

3. Many groups hold sales or events and donate the proceeds to the team. These events range from discos or lectures to coffee mornings and sponsored events. If you would like to hold an event in aid of team funds we would be very pleased to hear from you.

4. From time to time we are fortunate to receive donations left to us in people’s wills. If you would like the team to benefit from your estate then contact the Treasurer.
